Part Time Customer Service Representative

Remote, TN

A National Management company, specializing in self-storage, has an opening for a Part-Time Customer Service Representative. 

Pay Rate: $11-13 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week / AM or PM shifts / some weekends required

Location: Remote

Overall Responsibility: The Customer Service Representative will provide support to our customers by providing helpful information, responding to questions, and assisting with complaints. This team member will be the front-line in communication for our properties.

Primary Functions:

  • Answer customer calls to assist with questions and provide support
  • Assist callers with complaints, or other issues with products or services
  • Assist callers with reviewing storage unit availability and assisting with renting units online
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to callers, explaining possible solutions, and ensuring that customers feel supported and valued
  • Engage in active listening with callers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing upset customers, as needed
  • Utilize software, databases, scripts, and tools appropriately
  • Understand and strive to meet or exceed call center metrics while providing excellent consistent customer service
  • Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may better suit customers’ needs
  • Take part in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company and position
  • Identify and escalate issues to Property Manager and/or Senior Leadership
  • Take payments on customer accounts
  • Utilize software tools to provide follow-up information to prospective tenants
  • Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
  • Recognize, document, and alert the management team of trends in customer calls
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years’ call center experience preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in customer service required
  • Knowledge of self-storage highly preferred
  • Experience working remotely required

 Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit for prolonged periods of time working at a desk on a computer
  • The ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
  • The ability to communicate, converse with and express information in person, by phone and through other technology
  • The ability to maintain a regular and punctual schedule
  • The ability to travel by car or airplane up to 10%
